Why did I make this?
I love a good meme, and I want to bring awareness to an invasive species that is threatening the native plants of my home state.
So how can you help?
First, learn to identify the invasive spotted lanternfly, and check your vehicles for them when travelling through quarantined areas within Pennsylvania. (Check out [ www.agriculture.pa.gov/spottedlanternfly ] for more resources!)
When you find an egg mass:
- Scrape it into a plastic bag or container containing rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer.
When you find a nymph or adult:
- Squash it. Squish it. Step on that bug!!!
